Always Impulsive

Those who have known me awhile know I like vacations. Especially unplanned, weekend type vacations where one leave Friday and returns Sunday and feels like maybe life is a little more exciting and bearable than it was the Thursday before.

This weekend I went with Katria to St. George. Why? Because we could! It was wonderful and warm and I loved it.

First of all, we flew on a teeny, tiny little Kristy-sized plane. I adored it! It was sooo small and I was in love. Even my flights in Canada had bigger planes than this.

Katria had to take her kitty Drawly with her. He was having a very stressful day with all the traveling and seeing his new house and the new kitty he'd be living with. I think he handled it well. Here Katria is standing in front of the ENTIRE baggage claim of the St. George airport. The airport is not only Kristy-sized, but also the runway is right along a cliff. It's an adventure.

At Katria's house I discovered a wonderful new thing, almost like Cubees (I [heart] Cubees) but he stomps his little feet instead of clomping a big mouth.

Katria and I went and saw my sexy cousin Hailey. Katria wasn't quite up to par with the idea of "curbside parking". I told her if she parked in the middle of the street, then I was taking a picture.

Hailey came to breakfast with us. She was my daring roommate for the Egypt, Israel, Jordan tour. Those were good times.

Here is her son Max, who also came. He's a fast little kid. I kept trying to take his picture and he'd turn and run away! So I have a few pictures of a green blur.

After was a baby shower, again with the parking, and later that night Les Miserables at the Tuachan. It was AMAZING! They used the mountain behind for the fighting scenes and had live animals (I spent much of one song wondering what they'd do if any animals decided to have a bowel movement on stage). They even got quite a bit of use out of their horse. Carriages for everyone! The very real cannon took a few years off my life and Javert actually JUMPED from a bridge. Not a trick, an actual jump. I especially liked how after the battle and everyone is dead (Oh. PS. Spoiler alert) they just left it silent and you could hear crickets all over the desert. Coolest venue for a musical ever. I sort of want season tickets now.

Sunday we did fun things like go to church and had lunch with Katria's AMAZING family (seriously, so great!) and then I went home while Katria and Drawly stayed behind. Of course Katria, being the wonderful person she is, let me snap away at her and she patiently endured my weird little photo hobby. Good woman. Good photogenic woman.

The plane ride home was a bit scarier. I kept holding to the part where I was told turbulence doesn't make planes crash (don't anyone DARE tell me otherwise. I don't want to know, I don't need to know). I took pictures to distract myself from my growing motion sickness and the interesting boy who sat beside me and had a sporadic twitch.

This is what I got to come home to, a beautiful Giselle who loves me.

And a funny little Ziggy who'd caught fish over the weekend and wanted to show me. That part was a little bit gross, but at least he loves me.

What a great weekend!

I was wondering how your flight back was. Mine was uneventful and I slept through it all. I don't even remember take-off.

So Les Mis was worth it? I've been to one show at Tuachan which I really liked but I heard some of their other shows aren't as good, and I was trying to decide if I should go see Les Mis for my birthday.
