A Post Mostly About Jenny

Last week at some point, my friend Dave Terry showed me a picture of a ballerina and a baby. I said, "Hey, I have a ballerina and she has a baby!" and thus our photoshoot down in Provo at Eastbay Media (we love them!) took off.

Even though the point was to get Jenny and Giselle together, Giselle wasn't so much a fan of the whole event. It involved strangers, a new place and her mom not holding her. Also a tutu.

Little cell phone charms only last so long. I have such a cute niece! Even if she is moody.

We made the executive decision to ditch the baby. I spent half of my time at the shoot and half playing with Ziggy and Giselle (Giselle actually let me carry her, like I was going to walk away from that rarity!).

Had some fun with lighting.

And fun with posing.

This one may be my favorite. I don't think ballerinas are generally sassy...

At least Jenny had fun.

I then came home feeling slightly ill -- it was starting to hit me about two hours into the shoot that I maybe just wanted to lay down -- so I went straight to bed and slept for a blissful 14 hours straight. I've tried to stay awake today so, in theory, I can sleep tonight and not be dead at work, but it's been hard. I was laying down while the family was having dinner and Ziggy, who wanted to play race-the-cars-around-on-the-floor with me, asked "Grandma, is Kristy dying?" He sounded very sincere about it. Of course I laughed and told him I probably was. Which didn't phase him.

He's also been stealing all my hair clips, or "clipper fishies" as he calls them. I asked mom yesterday to please buy me more clipper fishies (as I can't find a single one when I need them to do my hair in the morning) and his eyes lit up, he got about an inch from my face and said, "And then I will play with all of them!"

Ziggy's birthday is on Thursday; we're having a dinosaur party. I'm afraid we're going to have to play that game where we go around in a cirlce and name our favorite dinosaurs. I'd better brush up on mine by watching all 27 Land Before Time movies...or however many there are now. If anyone has any favorites to share so I can be spared the movies, let me know.

How about "dorkasaurus." I want to see Jordan's face when you say that one! Truthfully Pachysephalasaurus is one you can impress the kid with. Oh, and "SASSY" is my middle name!

hey thanks for commenting/reading my blog! Love that your ballerina sis named her daughter giselle. I have a sister named giselle that my mom named after the ballet. Of course she is (was) a dancer but now just a mom.
