Why My Neighbors Must Think I'm Crazy

I realized the other day that Sarah (who lives across the street) got married and moved away (also from across the street!) when I was fairly young and weird (aren't all kids, though?) so her memories of me have to be somewhere along the lines of Bridget, Leslie Ann and me flooding sandboxes, swimming in the horse trough (really, it was gross) and creating our own "cooking show" in the Layton's kitchen (I still remember that miraculous time when the custard actually tasted good).

Now Sarah's moved back and life is a new kind of weird.

I've been doing the Photo A Day challenge for over a year, and sometimes when I've been home all day, I have to get a little more creative to take a picture that isn't "and this is a macro of my carpet because that is how unmotivated I feel." (Okay, it's not that bad.)

The other day I decided to take a picture of a chess set I brought home from Spain and decided I wanted to do it in natural light.

Which just happened to be best in the driveway (o:

Even as I was laying on my stomach in the driveway taking pictures of a chess set laid in the middle of the cement, I briefly wondered what the neighbors thought. I guess I'm just not destined for normalcy.

Since the board was already set up, I brought it in for Dad and Grandpa to play. I participated in my own way by watching Chess, the musical, so it all worked out well.

I am sure that Sarah does think you are crazy, but I am also sure that she enjoyed watching you photograph your chess set.

I would have paid a dollar to get to drive by when you were laying on your tummy in the driveway. Awesome! Being nerdy is cool. Always remember that. And LOVE that you were watching Chess. :D
